Version 1.1 - TDA Edition


This is an improved version of my submission for the GMTK Jam 2018, started the day after submissions ended and uploaded  the day after voting, hence "The Day After (TDA) Edition".

Here's what's new:

- added gamepad controls
- added a pause function
- changed number of starting lives from 2 to 3
- added easy difficulty level
- added continue option
- rebalanced enemy placement
- widened certain narrow passages
- added enemy friendly fire on easy and normal difficulty
- added temporary shield pick-up
- limited enemy shooting angles to 16-way/8-way
- made the immovable turret enemies look more like immovable turrets and added a charge animation for their shots
- made the crescent ship enemies pursue just a little bit more tenaciously
- added temporary shield for crescent ships in hard mode
- made the green squid enemies able to pass through walls unless tossed
- made the squids easier to shake when reacting rapidly, but harder when latched on in groups
- reworked the way green squid cloning works and added cloning in normal difficulty
- made the pink bug-like enemies resist getting "pushed" off screen
- made asteroids drift through space
- optimized hitboxes
- fixed the bug of enemies staying collision-active for a second after being destroyed
- fixed a music bug during the boss fight
- probably more minor fixes
